Across the Universe

The Milky Way stretches across the clear night sky in central Australia.

This is the penultimate photo in the series from my trip to Uluru with Astro Workshops, and one of my favourites.

It's the same tree as the last post, but captured as a 7 image vertical panorama and shot with the 14mm instead of my 24-70mm, so it's a little bit wider (what a difference 10mm makes!). This enabled me to capture the spiky spinifex in the foreground, as well as the core stretching across the sky.

The details for this image are:

  • Nikon D750 with Samyang 14mm f/2.8

  • Sirui W-1204 tripod with K-20x Ball Head

  • 7x 20s images

  • f/2.8

  • ISO3200
