For the third morning in a row the sunrise promised perfect conditions for photography, so I headed to one of my favourite little rockpools in Sydney: Ivor Rowe in South Coogee.
This rockpool is found along the Coastal Walkway just before a house fondly called ‘The Castle’. Once there, you must navigate down some of the slipperiest steps you’ll ever encounter, before being rewarded with a stunning natural pool perfect for wading or relaxing in on a hot summer’s day. But it’s the sort of place only locals really go to, so on a regular day you’ll have to it yourself except for some rock fishermen.
The rocks surrounding the pool are photographic in their own right, like an alien landscape of craters and strange creatures, so once the sun had come up, I wandered around taking photos of the little details I noticed.
