Misted Dreams

Hopetoun Falls in the Great Otway National Park is a must-do location.

After an easy-ish descent (it was only something like 200 stairs - easy!), you get to a viewing platform where you can admire the sight and power of water plunging 30 metres into the water below.

I loved being immersed in this gully, surrounded and embraced by a rainforest filled with rich deep greens, lush vegetation at every turn, the call of birds through the trees, and the sound of thunderous water kicking up spray and mist before trickling away down the stone-strewn riverbed.

I loved exploring the nooks and crannies around this waterfall, searching for compositions, as well as taking the time to marvel at the peace and serenity nature provides.

Finally, we pulled ourselves away and headed upwards (those stairs weren't so easy going back up) and onwards to our other location for the day before heading back to Melbourne.
