Fall Into Me

Andamira Falls in Brisbane Water National Park

Andamira Falls in Brisbane Water National Park

This is Andamira Falls in Brisbane Water National Park, found on the Girrakool (an Aboriginal word meaning ‘place of still waters’) loop track.

I'm not sure how I feel about this photo, so I have no idea why I'm posting it. I think maybe because at the end of the day I don't actually hate it, I'm just not thrilled with it. I feel like it's just too busy, with too much going on.

I wanted to see if I could capture the wispiness of the water against the textures of the rocks and ferns, as well as accentuate the rich orange colour glowing in the gloom, and because of the texture and busyness of the scene, I deliberately tried to edit the photo in such a way as to accentuate the depth and moodiness of the scene.

And this is what I came away with.

I think with some better framing (and better editing!) it could have been a lot better - but life is about learning, so hopefully I learnt something from this!

So yeah, it's not my favourite photo, but it's not bad.

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which I took this photo, and recognise their continuing connection to the land, waters and culture.
