Standing in the Sun

I remember standing here patiently waiting for the cloud to cover the sun just right in order to get the bright burst of colour immediately in front of the trees while the shadow covered the foreground in order to provide more depth and separation, and I'm glad I waited it out.

Photography really is a waiting game a lot of the time. We can't control anything apart from the composition and the settings in the camera, so I've developed a patience I never really thought I could. I'm now more than happy to stand (or sit) in one place for as long as necessary to get the shot I'm thinking about.

How about you? Are you patient and happy to wait for your shot, or do you prefer to keep moving to see what else tickles your fancy? Or maybe a mix of both, which is what I think I am.
