Como Communes

Clouds hang low over the peaks, and rain mists across the lake, shifting in a curtain of haze and fog, hiding then showing little hamlets and communes dotted along the shore. The only sound is the thrum of engines as the ferry pushes it's way forward, taking us ever onwards to our end destination of Bellagio, the jewel of Lake Como.Pictured here is the small commune of Pognana Lario as seen from the slow ferry from Como to Bellagio. We had just dropped our hire car off at the rental agency in Como, and this relaxing ferry ride is exactly what we needed after speeding down narrow Italian roads with hairpin turns and cliffs dropping to the lake below.The details for this image are:
