The most common thing I hear before a couples session is: "We're not photogenic" or "We're going to be so awkward." And then, without exception, we spend the first ten minutes just walking and talking, and by the time I start shooting, you've both completely forgotten the camera is there.

sydney's Eastern Suburbs offer some of the most beautiful natural backdrops for couples photography in the country - and I've shot at most of them. Coogee Beach and the coastal walk at golden hour, the fig trees at Centennial Park, the sandstone steps of the Royal Botanic Garden, the laneways of Surry Hills and Newtown, the headland at Malabar, the forest streams of the Blue Mountains. Wherever feels like the two of you, that's where we'll go.

I'm based in Coogee and shoot regularly across the Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, CBD, North Shore, and Northern Beaches. For couples chasing something more remote - the Southern Highlands, Hunter Valley, or beyond - I travel widely and love the excuse.
