Eyes of the Tiger

A tiger prowls through her territory at Sydney's Taronga Zoo.

She emerges from the shadows and the morning sun strikes her glossy orange fur, then with eyes ablaze she stalks forward.

The new Tiger Trek at Taronga Zoo is absolutely fantastic. I visited for my birthday, and spent a good 30 minutes just sitting by the (thankfully thick) glass window watching the tigers prowling through the bushes, slinking between light and shadow.

The power and menace of a tiger is a thing to behold. I can only imagine how it would feel to spot this predator stalking through the wilds of Sumatra, hunting its prey - an experience I would love to have, but one that is less likely to happen each day as their numbers in the wild dwindle. It's on all of us to do our best to ensure these majestic animals survive, and I recommend you look into the best way to achieve that.
