Floating Vibes
This is one of the first shots I took trialling Intentional Camera Movement.
I spent a fair bit of time trying to figure out the best way of getting the sort of shot I was looking for, which just meant playing with the shutter speed as well as the best way of actually getting the sort of movement I wanted.
I eventually settled on the technique of pressing the shutter and leaving the camera as still as possible for a fraction of a second before deliberating twisting it in a sharp spiral.
By keeping the camera still for that first little bit of time, it captures the initial scene in a way that makes it still recognisable, then the twist gives it that dreamy look you see here.
This shot actually reminds me of when I used to shoot film and somehow captured some double exposures on a trip to Morocco - those (very accidental!) photos had the same quality you see here, and I quite like it.
