Icebergs Afire
A tale of two sunrises - Part II.After the disappointment of Saturday morning, I almost didn't get up on the Sunday, but I was a man on a mission. I wanted to get this shot, and if that meant going through another lacklustre sunrise, then so be it.On the way there, the cloud was just as heavy as the morning before, and my hopes were fading fast. It promised to be another washout.I got to Bondi and set up shop. Unlike the day before, I was the only person there, and it was nice just being able to stand in the cool morning air and watch the world wake up around me.All of a sudden I see a break in the clouds. Little holes are opening up right where the sun was due to rise and my anticipation started to build. Soon the sky started to glow, before exploding in these vibrant reds and oranges and purples, reflecting off the clouds above and in the ocean below. It is moments like these that I love; that make the early morning starts and waiting around and false promises and disappointments all worth it. And it's why I'll keep on doing it for as long as I can.The details for this image are:
