The lighthouse of Tasman Island stands above the craggy cliffs in the morning light.
This is probably one of my favourite shots from the helitour I did over the Tasman Peninsula. I love the craggy cliffs, green and brown and grey, catching the diffuse morning light, and just seeing the lighthouse above it all standing guard.
There is something absolutely magical about being up in the air - especially a helicopter where the world below is spread out below, seemingly close enough to touch but just out of reach.
I always thought that if I was to have a superpower, it would be the ability to fly. To just have that sense of freedom where all that has tethered me and held me down has suddenly been released and now I can soar is exhilarating and liberating and terrifying all at once.
And this is the closest I'll probably ever get.
