Slow Down

20191025-DSC_4876.jpg

After the vibrancy of Turkey and richness of the sunrise in my last few posts, I found myself on an epic adventure with two awesome photographers, @louiseclarke_photography and @caseyskye - neither of whom I had actually met before.

Seeing as they were both based in Melbourne - and I had never done the Great Ocean Road - I flew down to join them on a long-weekend of exploring and shenanigans.

Flying into Melbourne, Louise met me at the airport and had brought doughnuts. It was at that point I knew this was going to be an amazing weekend!

After getting a coffee whilst waiting for Casey, we all hopped in the car and hit the road.

And I was smitten. The Great Ocean Road deserves it's reputation because it is absolutely stunning.

But the thing is, the first photo I properly took wasn't of the cobalt blue water or the craggy coastline… instead it was while we were inland driving through this lush countryside with rain and mist hanging in the air.

We all spotted this composition and Lou was nice enough to pull over and let me get my long lens out. I was fully extended for this shot, and was just waiting for the cows passing on the ridge to be in the perfect position for the composition.

Massive thanks to Louise for firstly pulling over, and then for allowing me to pretty much sit in her lap to get this shot!

It was a great start to what really was an incredible weekend.
