Take Me To Church
I'm not a particularly religious person, but standing beneath a cloudless sky in the parking lot of an old church with the core of the Milky Way stretching out above me, I couldn't help but feel a certain sense of wonder and belief.
It's a feeling I get every single time I shoot the Milky Way, and one I hope to never lose. It's not hard to liken it to a religious experience, which is why I think so many of us love the composition of a church and the Galactic Core.
I love the way it connects a religious belief with a universal wonder.
I love the sense of wonder it kindles in me, the questions it raises.
I love that we might never know the answer to those questions.
I love the sense that yes, there is something more to believe in. That there something more beyond whatever life it is we lead.
I love the desire it stokes to be our best selves.
I love.
Do you?
