When I Look At You
30 May, 2020
There is nothing more magical than standing in the pale night glow as you slide out from your hiding place beyond the horizon, coming to whisper hello in the darkness.
I had never been to Stockton Sand Dunes before this night, but it had always been somewhere I wanted to shoot and it didn't disappoint.
Trekking into the dunes at night, lit only by the setting moon and the thousands of stars, was just a beautiful experience.
On the lookout for an interesting composition, I found these ridges of sand - like little mountains standing on the edge of a desert - and set up my camera, careful not to disturb the sand with my footprints, and took this shot.
I acknowledge the Worimi people as the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which I took this photo, and extend my acknowledgement and respects to the Traditional Custodians of all the incredible lands of which I am so lucky to live and create upon on what always was and always will be First Nations land.
