Let This Remain

A fishing boat cuts through the water around the Tasman Peninsula

A fishing boat cuts through the water around the Tasman Peninsula

A journey of a thousand leagues to find

A place untouched by time and pain

Where all my memories that have gone before

Run fast and thick through the rivers of my mind

And so I dive deep and drink it in

Quenching this thirst that’s overtaken me

And I hold on so incredibly tight

Not wanting these memories to vanish

Into the deepest darkest part of night

Because all I want is for this to remain

Please let this remain

This fishing boat was slowly crawling back towards port, and I loved the simplicity of it cutting through the textured water.

With this photo I tried to capture the sense of isolation they must feel sometimes; to try and evoke the feelings of these fishermen being out on the water all day surrounded by nothing but a carpet of water and overwhelmed by the endless depths of the ocean.
