Reflect the Light
Singapore is a city awash with trees and greenery as it aspires to be a City in a Garden, instead of the other way round. The most famous here has to be Gardens by the Bay, where Super Trees light up the night with their regular Garden Rhapsody light and sound shows wowing locals and tourists alike.
But on the other side of Gardens by the Bay lies a lesser known green space called Gardens by the Bay East. From here, you have expansive views across the water towards probably the most famous and recognisable skyline of Singapore.
Here you can see the domes of Cloud Forest and Flower Dome, the towering extravagance of Marina Bay Sands, followed by the flower-shaped ArtScience Museum, then the Helix Bridge leading towards the Singapore Flyer. And if you look closely, you can also see some of the Super Trees glowing in the background.
Watching day turn to dusk turn to night with a camera is always a time of reflection. You frame your composition and then you wait for the scene to be just so, leaving plenty of opportunity for quiet contemplation. It can be quite a relaxing experience, and one I thoroughly enjoy.
