Shape of Love
Happy (belated) Mardi Gras! (I know, I'm late, I'm sorry)
I took this photo back in February after I heard Havaianas Australia had turned the iconic Bondi Icerbergs pool into a giant 50-metre rainbow flag to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community.
It was only there for a few days, so the window of opportunity was short. Luckily the forecast for the day after I found out what they had done was looking promising for sunrise, so I set out early in order to see if I could get the glorious sunrise colours and the rainbow in one - and this is what I managed to capture.
This photo was taken at 5:45am and is a 62 second exposure to try and capture as much of the pre-dawn hues as I could.
While the sunrise might not have been as epic as predicted, I am really happy with this photo anyway, and look forward to continue celebrating the incredible LGBTQIA+ community!
In the spirit of reconciliation, I acknowledge the Gadigal, Bidjigal and Birra-Birragal Clans as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I took this photo.
