When the Night is Over
I think the term 'moonset' is a funny thing. It just sounds weird to me. We're all so familiar with 'sunrise' and 'sunset' it's so easy to forget the moon rises and sets too - just not as obviously most of the time.
This is a panorama of 5 images taken at about 220mm just as the sun was peeking over the horizon behind me. That morning light is what makes the moon glow in this image, and is also responsible for the beautiful transition from pinks and purples to blues. You can also see the reflection of the rising sun in the chrome and glass office buildings of our CBD.
I'm pretty happy with how this photo turned out, especially as it was my first go at a moonset, but do think there's more I can do.
In the spirit of reconciliation, I acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I took this photo.
