Sunshine on my Shoulders

Soft golden light shines down after an afternoon storm in the Barossa Valley, South Australia.

The rain and wind has passed us by, whipping and whirling around us like demons in the night, shrieking their terror and pain. But now we stand strong in this sheen of golden light, facing the days that are yet to come, the ever unknown of what the future may bring.

The road ahead may be full of twists and turns, of dead ends and crossroads, of hills and valleys, but for now none of that matters, for we have conquered this day, and all that it has brought.

Tomorrow, we shall do it all again.

And we shall do it together, until the end of time.

I love the light after a good storm, especially in the late afternoon when the sun is making her final descent for the day. The air is clean and fresh, and when you breathe in deeply, you are wrapped in the comfort of the smell of this earth.
