Afterglow
Basking now in this state of grace
Wrapped in a cocoon, warm and safe
Of gentle breathing and touch so soft
Tendrils tracing, wandering, getting lost
While the light of day fades so slow
And we bathe together in this afterglow
This is one of my absolute favourite images from the Astrophotography Workshop I attended - and it isn't even of the Milky Way!
The Belt of Venus was perfectly placed behind Uluru as the last of the setting sun reflected back off the red in the rock in this amazing glow. Couple that with the Field of Light lit up in a beautiful burst of colour and it is probably a photo I feel hard pressed to beat.
It's been almost three months since I visited this incredible place, and I still take such great joy in looking back at these photos I captured and the memories I have.
