From Darkness
'Path to Light'The weekend just gone was a great one for some astro shoots so on Friday night I ventured down to Malabar to see if I could get anything from there. As I was arriving, I ran into @chrisparryphoto and @elisaeves who had also been scoping it out. They ended up down at La Perouse, and you should definitely check out their shots!I decided to stick around and see what I could do. The tide was rushing in (the roar of waves crashing on rocks is a soothing backing track), soaking my shoes and jeans, and the glare of a giant streetlight behind me was illuminating the foreground of the scene in that gorgeous colour only sodium lights can bring. As a result, I decided to stick my GND16 on and try cut the glare down to reduce the orange tinge. I didn't position it quite well enough, leaving the bottom half the sky darker than it should have been, but I still like the gradual emergence of the Milky Way out of the darkness and into the light. The details for this image are:
