An iconic mulga tree frames Uluru at sunrise on the final morning of my trip to the Red Centre.

Sun star for days! We headed out on our last morning of the trip with the aim of capturing this scene: a mulga tree - iconic and prolific in the Red Centre - reaching out and over Uluru at sunrise, forming a natural frame for the photo.

As it was another cloudless morning, we didn't have any clouds to create drama and glow with the rising sun. So instead, this tree had to do the heavy lifting for us and create a look that was interesting and could fill the negative space of the sky. And I think it did an amazing job.

I also really like how the sunstar is coming up between the trunk of the main mulga tree, and the tree further out in the middle. The little bush on the right of the image also gives it extra balance. All of which lit up in that delicious golden glow of early morning sun.
