A New Year
On New Years Day, traditionally a time to celebrate the year ahead, all along the NSW South Coast and beyond, people awoke to air thick with choking smoke and further devastation.
Day of the Fires
New Years Eve 2019 was spent down the coast in the sleepy seaside town of Bawley Point. Not much further south, bushfires ravaged communities, and here in Bawley, the threat of it exploding into life became a real threat.
A New Hope
A slightly different view of the iconic Hopetoun Falls in the Great Otway National Park from an angle I haven’t seen captured before. To take it, I was balanced precariously on slippery rocks with certain icy death only inches away. Did I survive? Read on to find out!
Roaring Sparks
Beauchamp Falls was our other waterfall location for the day, and it was at the end of a lovely walk through incredibly beautiful forest, resplendent with mountain ash, large myrtle beech, and blackwood trees.
Misted Dreams
Hopetoun Falls in the Great Otway National Park is a must-do location, and after an easy-ish descent (it was only something like 200 stairs - easy!), you are rewarded with the most amazing view.
The One Where We Cancelled Our Trip
